# Survey: Online Grocery Usership Changes Year Over Year - January 2021
When Chicory conducted our first online grocery shopping survey in January 2020, we had no idea that COVID-19 would cause the entire grocery industry to turn on its head, and grocery ecommerce would experience unprecedented growth. It’s because of this unprecedented change that we chose to continue to conduct quarterly surveys throughout 2020 and 2021, with this January 2021 survey showing year over year growth in online grocery.
